ORIGINAL ART

Shown below are a sample of Rob's original paintings. We've included a few non-motorsport images to reference Rob's work outside subjects of racing as well. We welcome inquiries of any kind regarding commissioned work; please feel free to contact us with your request and we'll be happy to discuss your project.

24 HOURS DETERMINED

oil on canvas

This original oil was produced as a dedication to the overall victory by the Pratt & Miller #2 Corvette at the 2001 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Chevrolet's premier marque outlasted all others, including the faster prototype cars, to win the endurance classic - a first in the modern era of sports car racing.  In doing so Ron Fellows also became Canada's first overall winner of the event.

UNITED WE STAND

oil on canvas

Rob created this painting in honor of the tribute paid to the many victims of 9-11 by Pratt & Miller.  Depicted are both Corvettes debuting their patriotic colors for the Petit Le Mans 2001 at Road Atlanta - the one and only time that Corvette displayed this color scheme. Eventual GTS class race winner Andy Pilgrim is shown leading Ron Fellows as the cars circulate together.

MASTER OF MONACO

oil on canvas

Painted as a dedication to Ayrton Senna following his tragic death in 1994, this original oil depicts the gifted Brazilian heading to victory in his final appearance at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1993. His brilliance behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car was never more obvious than when he was threading the needle in his McLaren around the confines of Monaco's difficult street circuit.

REFLECTIONS AT SPEED

watercolor on paper

This watercolor commission was created as a sponsor gift for Paul Edwards (Red Bull F-1 driver search winner). After reviewing several photographs of Paul - many in the wet - watercolor was used to depict Paul at speed in those wet conditions.  The original painting was framed and presented to Paul's sponsor Doug Mockett.

MOTOR CITY MAESTRO

oil on canvas

This oil painting was created as a sponsor commission for Tom Gloy Racing, and depicts Ron on his way to victory in the 1994 Detroit Motor City 100 SCCA Trans-Am race, his first of two back-to-back victories in Detroit. The original was presented to Bob McGraw at AER Manufacturing, and is displayed at their corporate headquarters in Texas.

C6R CONCEPT

watercolor on paper

This watercolor commission was produced at the request of a client who was interested in Rob's interpretation of the next generation American Le Mans Series GTS Corvette. Depicted is a concept of the new Pratt & Miller C6-R prior to its debut in 2005.

LE MANS CHAMPION

pencil on paper

This pencil drawing was produced for a client who asked for an enlarged version of one of Rob's remarques. Depicted is the 2001/2002 Le Mans 24 Hour GTS class-winning Pratt & Miller C5R Corvette.

OTHER ORIGINAL ART

Here is a small sample of Rob's work outside subjects of motorsports. For variety we've included an oil landscape, a watercolor stillscape and a watercolor portrait. All were created from photographs and painted in-studio. If you have a special picture and would like to explore the possibilities of a commissioned painting, please contact us to discuss it further.

SANTA FE ADOBE

oil on canvas

Created from pictures taken on a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico in the fall of 2003, Rob produced this painting on his return home and presented the original to his wife. Shown as framed in the enlarged gallery image.

MORNING TERRACE

watercolor on paper

An early morning picture taken in the Bahamas in 1996 captured the light and shadows of an open-air terrace, and Rob created this watercolor painting from the snapshot. The painting was as much a study in perspective as it was an exercise to effectively try and recreate the warm and inviting atmosphere. Shown as framed in the enlarged gallery image.

SANTORINI FISHERMAN

watercolor on paper

On a trip to Greece in the late 1980's Rob photographed the weathered face of a fisherman off the pier in Santorini. This small watercolor portrait was painted some 10 years later, after coming across the old photographs in a box. It was Rob's first portrait painting of any kind.
